Ingredients
- ♡ 2 Cups self raising wholemeal flour
- ♡ 2 Cups Plain flour
- ♡ 1½ Teaspoons bicarb soda
- ♡ 1 teaspoon salt
- ♡ ½ Cup mixed seeds
- ♡ 2 cups cold buttermilk (I don’t know of a substitute MILK that will work with this recipe)
Instructions
- ♥ Preheat oven to 200 degrees C. Line a oven tray with baking paper.
- ♥ In a large bowl mix together the flours, soda, salt and seeds.
- ♥ Make a well and pour in the buttermilk. Using a rounded knife and in folding motion gently combine the buttermilk with the dry ingredients.
- ♥ Transfer to work surface and with floured hands lightly bring the dough together or until all the flour is moistened and the dough comes together in a disc.
- ♥ Place on prepared tray and with a very sharp knife cut a 1/4″ deep X or stripes on the top.
- ♥ Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and it sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
- ♥ Enjoy with your favourite topping.
