Don’t let the word “EXERCISE” freak you out. I know some people (me included) begin to sweat with the very thought of exercise…But let’s put our anxiety into perspective…its only 9 minutes…

…. It’s only 9 minutes…and it makes a massive difference to our sense of achievement. To be able to tick our exercise tracker with conviction is the key. Each tick brings us closer to finishing the 9 minutes daily exercise challenge and becoming fitter.

De-mystifying exercise

Exercise is defined as: “Physical activity that is planned, structured, and repetitive for the purpose of conditioning the body.” Exercise is not a walk in the park. It consists of cardiovascular conditioning and training for agility, balance, core strength and muscle tone.

A more simple explanation for exercise is; any activity that you can counts in repetition. It can be as simple as marching on the spot.

When to march on the spot

There will be times during the challenge where you just can’t be bothered doing the three exercises in the program. When you feel this way, go with marching on the spot. Here is how just  this one exercise will help you:

    1. Create stability on both sides of the body (hip flexors and glutes).
    2. Develop balance while increasing core stability.
    3. Avoid shuffling your feet when walking, which can lead to falls.
    4. Increase the ability to do single-leg movements (e.g., walking up/downstairs)
    5. Improve your cardiovascular condition
    6. Maintain your fitness levels
    7. Keep your 2021 challenge commitment for 9 minutes of daily exercise.

Let’s try and get a taste for success. Take a moment to think about achieving your fitness goal for daily exercise.  Can you visualize and feel the sense of pride as you mark your 9-minute workout as done on your tracker? Daily exercise is all it takes to improve fitness and have winning health long term.

Your goal may be to lose weight, get fitter, be healthier, sleep better or simply move pain-free.  The process by which you achieve your goal is to set the intension and make plans for 9 minutes of daily exercise. If you can’t do the workout for any reason – march on the spot.

You now have no excuses and a simple and easy plan to get fit, that WORKS when you exercise for just 9 Minutes.

Live well with Health and WELLth!
